Just yesterday my wife was wondering what movie my sisters son went to see. While mentioning that I wondered why my son, almost the same age, did not go with him to the movies. We live in the same town, they like playing together and they get along pretty good, so why didn't he invite him to the movies? I know he went with a friend from school, it was the boys birthday and they celebrated by taking him to the movies and inviting my nephew. That's when it hit me, history seems to be repeating...

I found this on the Microsoft site and was wondering what do you guys think? Windows Live Link What is Windows Live? Your online world gets better when everything works simply and effortlessly together. That's the basic idea behind Windows Live. So the things you care about—your friends, the latest information, your e-mails, powerful search, your PC files, everything—comes together in one place. This is a brand new Internet experience designed to put you in control. And this is just...

I am curious about something. I plan on having more than one PC in my house someday and would like to network them together to share files. Would having a sever with Linux be a good idea while the rest of the PCs have Windows? I figure if Linux is a pretty safe system and is widely used on servers would that be a good idea?

I have a good question for you Linux users and for those who don't use it as well. I have often heard that if Linux becomes mainstream (in other words what Windows in today) that it, too, will become another OS with hundreds of vulnerabilities found all the time. That it being an OS found on 90% of the computers in the world, that hackers will be working their butts off to hack it just like they do with Windows today. If this were to happen and Linux could be in the same place Windows is n...

I got the chance to get a taste of most of Stardocks software once. Everything from CursorXP to Bootskin to the infamous Windowsblind. All great programs that give you the ability, not only to change the look of your PC totally from the choices of skins that come with each software but also from those made by other users and of your own design. Just pic a theme of your choice and your PC can go from a computer panel on any Star Trek ship (with all the bells and whistles), to your taskbar, sta...

This will be about a link on Thoma's article posted by another JU user about a guy, who claims to have 20 years of PC experience, who posted an article about the review that extremetech.com gave on Windows Vista. The review from extremetech.com gave props to Microsoft on the changes being made to the entire structure of Windows in order to create a more stable and secure OS. The review from desktoplinux.com gave a very bias opinion on what the guys from extremetech.com had to say about Window...

I read an interesting article by one of our comrades of JU, Thomas, which spoke of the New Microsoft, soon to be released, Windows Vista. Previously called Longhorn, Windows new OS seems to have a lot of improvements over previous Windows OS’s. While XP is the latest and best out at the moment, it’s not the safest OS out there when it comes to security from hackers, viruses, Trojans, spyware and all other types of malware that can be installed in your PC. Your other alternatives? Linux, UNIX,...

1) Let your wife and/or girlfriend drive your car. 2) Let her hit some invisible bumps. 3) Let her tell you what happened, her side of the story, and then wonder why the horn does not work when you turn on the alarm only to find out that the horn is missing. Now you see that wasn't so hard now was it? Works everytime. At least for my wife. Here's an extra lesson: How to avoid invisible bumps. Take the keys away from your wife and/or girlfriend.

Believe it or not trolls have dreams as well. But our resident troll has a dream that only he can dream it. In his dream he sees the US controlling it’s own ports because he won’t trust anyone that is not American. This way he can be sure that no bombs will ever enter the US and kill millions, since we have a great reputation of being so thorough with our searches. The ocean would be full of Coast Guard Cutters and choppers flying around watching every single boat out there, checking every ...

Is the political world a bit slow these couple of days or are the JU people asleep? Where is everyone and whats up with the forums? It seems a bit slow around here past 2 days. I know there is this thing with that Galactic Emipre II game going on sale, but if the forum page still shows, why is it that there are hardly any people posting or replying? It is lonely and boring around here people, wake up and let's get this place rolling again, please. These 5 hours at work can be really boring whe...

This article itself is probably not a good idea. Writing about how much I suck at expressing myself on a blog site where the article itself could generate the exact same results as the reason I’m doing it in the first place. I mean this goes to show how much I don’t know myself or understand people at all. It has happened to me many times before but could not see the reason as to why which was right there staring at me, or maybe I’m just in denial that I chose to ignore it on purpose. To b...

I'm Catholic, well I was raised Catholic. I don't go to church but i do believe in God. Anyways. As I watched TV last night I came across The Simpson show. I always enjoy the crude humor of the show, but last night made me want to run into the streets and riot, burn cars, destroy private and public property and maybe beat some people up to the point of almost killing them..... and then maybe let them die. Why? I'll tell you. The show had something to do with Homer and Marge having relations...
