I only wish I had the knowledge that some JU members have when it comes to politics. I only began to have interest in politics after 9/11. I never really cared much for it, I figured no matter who I voted for or who I believed in my vote and voice would be lost is the entanglements of the Gov’t. Only after understanding how things work did I realize how much more powerful my vote and voice were. I soon chose to be Republican because I understood that this party stood for what I believed in. I believe that the Gov’t should not be involved in everything in our lives. I believe that the Gov’t should not have to take care of every American Citizen by paying for everything, to me that only creates laziness and dependence, like a baby who needs to be fed. I believe that Gov’t services like welfare and food stamps should be for those who are struggling to make a living but are also required to make an effort to better themselves with the goal to remove themselves from these services.

Democrats don’t stand for anything I believe in and after what I saw, when Bush was running for a second term, on TV and read on the internet about the tactics used by the Democrats to win the office, it only made my decision even easier. To say that Bush is the best thing that has happened to the US would be making up fair-tales, but that doesn’t make him the worse thing. I don’t go about classifying people, like Bush, simply cause he makes mistakes when making speeches, as if no one else in the world has never said the wrong word when talking in front of millions of people. The war in Iraq? The way I see it no matter how much we try to make things better (we as in all those who want this world to be a better place to live, not just Americans) there are those who like misery because misery creates anger, anger create hate, hate create evil and evil is the best way to make money which in the end is everyone persons goal in life, to find ways to make money. The civilized part of the human race is as dependent on money as plants are of CO2 or fish are of water. Money is really all that matters in today’s society and people will find the most elaborate ways to make some. Even if it means sacrificing other peoples lives for self benefit. So even if we did find the WMD we would still have been accused of doing a bad thing.

As horrible as this may sound we seem to be heading in, what I believe is, the right direction to a better future. Someone, like Bush for example, has finally stood up and fought for what he believes in even if it meant his career and even his social life. Sometimes what one thinks is the right thing many others think it’s wrong, the trick is to trust yourself enough to believe in what you do and hope for the best. I for one should know, since my life has always been about doing the right thing and getting negative results in the process. You eventually convince yourself that you’re doing something wrong. It took me a while to see that it wasn’t always me the one doing things wrong which I thought were right, it was those who did nothing and felt I made them look bad.

We live in such a corrupt world were those who we trust in are the ones stabbing us in our own faces and we just sit there and take it cause we just don’t care anymore.
