Hey All. I own a 128 MB Lexar Jumpdrive. I used it at my job where it worked fine when I first bought it. Now all of a sudden none of the PCs will except my jumpdrive and I get an error saying I don't have admin privileges to install it. Why would it suddenly stop working, could it have been the people who work on the PCs here might have somehow blocked all Lexar jumpdrives from working on their PCs? There were some people who were not able to use their Jumpdrives before but mine worked fine. Any help would be appreciated. If there is a work around I would like to know. I have tried a Scandisk thumbdrive and it works fine. Thanx in advance.

ask your IT/support/sys admin

I would but they have a system here that will take centuries for them to come around to help me and they will probably also believe that if it is not for company use they will not do anything about it. They have very strictrules on using PCs here and if they think it's for personal use they wont do a thing about it. And trust me, to prove it's not just personal will be a pain and probably not worth it. But thanx anyways.

If you have a PC at home, does it work on that one?

If so, you can try moving any contents onto the machine at home, and then use Disk Management to format the drive. I have seen instances where problems arise from a number of issues (corrupt data, file depth, etc.).

The fact that the Scandisk thumbdrive works (if used on the same port), would suggest an issue with the Lexar drive. I am assuming it was listed as a removable drive in My Computer when connected.

Note - It is of course possible that a policy was set for your group (or account) that would explain the issue.

I think you answered your own question. If your company doesn't want these drives used then they probably stopped them.
