I figured I talk alot why not write a lot also.
Why not all?

I know this is not a new topic, and I'm sure we a have gone thru this debate before on which one is better. We I wanna ook at this from a different perspective. I have read many debates online on who's gonna get what system and why. Many want the PS3 because they liked the original PS and PS2. Others say the PS2 had better games so PS3 will be their choice of course. And then there are those who get really technical a believe that the PS3 will be technologicaly superior to the Xbox 360. But m fav one is the Xbox is from Microsoft and Microsoft has Bill Gates and makes the Windows OS so it's bound to suck. Most of these reasons can be said about the Xbox 360, the Bill Gates one could be an advantage rather than a disadvantage to others.

So lets take a small look and compare these 2 systems side by side to see what we've got:

Sony PlayStation 3

1. All-in-one Entertainment System. Plays games, DVD movies and music.

2. Online capabilities.

3. Wireless controllers.

4. Fully backwards compatible. All PS and PS2 games will play.

5. Lacks a Hard Drive, for now.

6. Cell Processor PowerPC-base Core @3.2GHz

7. Price: $500 +- US

Microsoft Xbox 360

1. All-in-one Entertainment System. Plays games, DVD movies and music.

2. Online capabilities.

3. Wireless controllers.

4. Partially backwards compatible. Only select games will be played.

5. Hard Drive

6. Custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU 3 symmetrical cores at 3.2 GHz each

7. Price: $399 US

As you can see the systems are similar when it comes to features. Keep in mind that I am using the Xbox 360 more expensive version. The basic version, which cost $299 US, lacks almost everything on that list. All it has is the basic box, a wired controller and online capabilities.

So the infamous question; what system are you gonna get? In the end it will all come down to power, graphics and the game library. But… why settle for just one system? Some people have particular titles that they like that are only made for one of the systems. Take Zelda for example, only Nintendo caries the series and I’m a big fan of the Zelda games. I owned a PS2 and a GameCube, and I say owned because my younger child broke both systems. Trust me this will not be a situation that will repeat itself. I got a taste of the Xbox and thought it was a pretty good system, the graphics were much better than the PS2 and some of the titles were definitely much better. But the way I see it why have only one system? Every system has something I like and the fact that the PS3 cost $? And the Xbox cost $399 would tell me that if I could afford one of them I can definitely afford the other, eventually. While I’m at it I can throw in the Nintendo Revolution to keep up with my Zelda and Mario series. In any case my kids will love all of them and will treat them like they were made of glass. After all each system will be released at different times giving you enough time to gather the money for the new system. I highly believe that you should experience each system before making a decision on which is better.

I for one will have all 3 systems and an awesome PC for all the PC games and life will be a little bit better.

So what do you think? One system, two or all?

Gotta wonder what the media for nintendo Revolution would be.

Definitely two systems. Having grown up with Nintendo, it's certainly hard to let Mario, Link, and Samus go. I don't have as much of a connection to characters from PS or XBox series'.

I'll probably stick with the Xbox 360, since I have the Xbox now, and some of the games I've really enjoyed have been Xbox exclusives, like Halo, Fable, and KOTOR. I know they were eventually ported over to PC, but given the choice with just about everything but RTS and most FPS, I'd rather play on a console.

Maybe PS3 eventually, but it would have to be a case where several really great games are only available on that system, and even that might not be enough.

hmmm, i guess in the end I just ended up agreeing with why not all 3. And good luck keeping them all working this go round.

I really want to support Nintendo, as they are the only hardware /software game maker still in existence from the 'old school'.

I'll buy my Revolution first and enjoy those funky new controllers - hopefully Nintendo software will take advantage of the capabilities. I also like the idea of having access to the older (gamecube, n64, etc.) games - but I don't know how that concept will pan out.

Though there will be differences in graphics (and possibly sound) capabilities, I believe Nintendo has recognized that the differences between it's system and the others won't be so drastic as to drive consumers away from the 'Big N'. Just look at the marketing angle Nintendo used with DS - lower hardware specs, but unique playability one can only have with the Nintendo system. So far the DS is outselling the vastly superior audio / visual PSP worldwide (fueled by titles such as Nintendogs which can only be played with the unique hardware).

I'll buy a 360 for one reason - Halo 3. I whipped the first one, I whipped the second, then I spent a few months whipping others on XBox Live - truly Halo is the Crown Jewel in the Microsoft gaming crown.

Ah, Sony...I never cared for your systems (and the majority of their games) and only bought a Playstation 1 for two reasons - Castlevania:SOTN and Tecmo's Deception (if you haven't played this rare pearl, track it down immediately).

If, in another year I have enough time and money and see a game I can't live without, maybe I'll buy the PS3 - after waiting another two years for it to come down in price.

(Five Hundred DOLLARS?! I'm getting Neo-Geo and 3D0 flashbacks!)

I have always loved Nintendo, it was my first view into a new world of gaming after having the Atari 5200 and the Sega Master System. Atari was, obviously, blocky and Sega was borring. But then came Mario and Zelda. Mario was great, but I definitly fell inlove with Zelda. I would buy any Nintendo system just to keep up with the Zelda games.

My son got a PS2 from my sister-in-law and it was my first time playing with the system at home and when I got a taste of Vice City I was hooked. That game allowed me to let out so much fustration that I actually began to sleep better after I bought it. Once I heard about GTASA I couldn't wait. It was the first game I ever bought brand new and paid full price for. I couldn't get enough of it. I miss it big time since my youngest son trashed the PS2 and the game as well. I had only a few games I liked from PS2 but my kids love alot of them.

I tried the Xbox at a friends house and I thought it was pretty good as well but since I was not in a good financial state ATM I was unable to get a good taste of it so I don't really have a good opinion about it. However, since I found out that GTASA was gonna be on Xbox I have been wanting one ever since. But that will most likely not happen.

I hope that games like GTASA and Dead to Rights will be backwards compatible with the Xbox 360, that will determine whether I get it or not. Chances are I will anyways, for my kids, just not ATM. I will definitely get the PS3 because it can play all PS and PS2 games so my kids will be happy about that and I will definitely get a Nintendo Revolution cause I have a promise to keep to Link and Zelda, besides, my kids will love it as well. Only this time they will be locked up and access only thru me or their mother and there will be rules and punishments. Garanteed.

Thanx for posting.
