Just curious how did you fellow JU users end up here. I found this place by mean coincidence. I use to hang out at this other site that I found where they had a section with tech news and sorts to post about. I found it entertaining to chat without using a chat program (good when you at work and can't install anything on the PC) and being able to express myself about topics I liked. I did how ever ended up leaving cause one of the users who was also a moderator began to have strong disagreements with me and we would argue a lot. Sure, not a problem, happens here all the time, but he abused his powers by deleting my post just for the fun of it and that was unfair. So I left.

I eventually came across Wincustomize and fell in love with all their skins and software. And as I browsed thru the forums I learned more and more about Stardocks programs everyday. I began to get interest in making skins, learning to use PhotoShop and Paint Shop and changing my PC to my own style; something I'm big on.

Then one day I saw someone mention Joeuser.com. I was curious, I was unaware that some of JU's articles would also end up on WC. I decided to check it out and since then I have been a member of this great site. I spend a lot of time on here when I'm online, I'm a chatter box, a motormouth, so what better place for someone like me to be at.

So tell me, how did you guys and gals find your way to this great site? Does everyone use Wincustomize.com here or Stardock.com, or did you get here via a friend or a google search or just because you just like blogging? I wanna know.

I tried googling for free blogs, found a few and then realized this was the only site where there's a great deal of communication between bloggers and stayed.

I've got a couple of other blogs where I post stuff I'd never share..

I was just minding my own business surfing the web when some jerk pulled their IP out in front of me and I had to make a hard left into a side server to avoid them and wound up here.

my friend at school had one and he showed it to me. I liked his blog and the other posters, so I made one for myself.

near the end of 2003, google radically revised its pagerank algorithm. by february 2004, several of my clients' sites seemed to have suddenly dropped off the web even though they'd consistently shown up on the first results page (generally among the first five hits) of any search for the type of products they made or sold.

by some amazing coincidence, google also began aggressively promoting adwords sales at the same time. even more amazingly, it seemed to me those who paid for adword hits seemed to have replaced my client.

couple months later--after everyone caved--i was still fulminating about google's commitment to doing good vs its unregulated power (incredible power actually) to do better for those willing to kick em down with a few bucks, when i did a search to see whether anyone was making any noise about the situation.

first hit led me to an article by brad wardell at joeuser.com in which he said pretty much everything wbout which i'd been ranting for a while.

i remember thinking 'jeez. it aint often i run across people who see stuff the way i do.'
