I figured I talk alot why not write a lot also.
It’s a question of taste.

I just recently watched the Dukes of Hazard Movie at home on DVD. I’m a big fan of the TV series and could not let pass the chance of seeing one of my favorite cars in action again.

Dukes of Hazard was only one of many TV shows I was addicted to when I was little. Together with The A-Team, Knight Rider, Fall Guy and MacGyver; they all ran my afternoon block on TV. Sure I always found time to play outside so don’t think I never did.

Duke was a great show, still is since it can still be seen on cable and satellite. I loved the car flying from one place to another and barely a scratch on it. Of course I was to little to know that they used about 40 models that when they wrecked one they would use another while they fixed the others. I always thought Bo and Luke were cool guys, Uncle Jessie was the best, Roskco was hilarious and Boss Hog was just that, a hog. But we can’t forget the beautiful Daisy and her famous Daisy Dukes. She didn’t always do it for me for I found other girls on TV cuter and I was little anyways so what did I know about older women. The Duke’s of Hazard were, are and will always be one of the best TV shows ever to me.

Now the movie was not what I expected. But I have to say I enjoyed it very much. I was nice to see the General Lee fly again. The movie was based on a more modern time and so maybe it’s why I got some bad reviews about it. People expected it to be more like the TV show, but I think it was cool to change it around a little. The characters were not so country like they were on the TV show but they were still funny. It was hard to get use to seeing Boss Hog skinny and Roscko fat but all well. They did a good job with Cooter, he’s character did justice to the original as far as I’m concerned. But by far Daisy was the best change ever done to the characters. Wow was Daisy a knock out. That girl had me wanting to see it again just to see her. Keep in mind I am not big on blondes but I willing to make an exception this one time. Although they portrayed Daisy sexier and more provocative than the TV show, I’m sure if given the chance that’s exactly how she would have been on TV. The casting of the movie was alright, it could have been better but what’s done is done. It was interesting to see the Dukes head to the city and the writers just couldn’t resist adding a situation where they would find themselves I near black people in a corner while driving with the confederate flag painted on the car. I guess I was too small and too ignorant to understand the flag on the roof but I thought it looked nice. Always thought it was some kind of patriotic symbol like the American flag. Never thought it had something to do with black people and racism. Oh well, I never saw it like that before and still don’t today so I just think it looks cool and chose to ignore it’s real meaning. I do how ever find it odd to still see it on TV if it really is offensive to black people.

So there’s my take on the movie of one of the greatest TV shows ever made. What do you boys and girls think about it? Did you like the cast? Did you like the look compared to the original TV show? Did you like the story line? What did you like the most and what did you hate the most about the movie?

BTW the DVD has some pretty good special feature like how they made the car jump, who drove the General Lee, a scoop on Daisy’s short short shorts and more.

I give this movie a 3 ½ stars out of 5.

I have not seen the movie, and I saw the series in the original run (and couter - Ben Jones - Actually ran for congress in my district - he lost). You were watching the reruns?

You are young!

What killed the movie for me was Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg. That is like Johnny Cash playing a warden!

Well I'm not that young. I'm 29. I have been watching this TV show for as long as I can remember. I was almost 3 when it started.

I agree with Boss Hog. Why Burt Renolds? I think Danny Devito could have done a better job.

Did he really? If he would have won at least all cars might have been fixed faster and better.

That would have been a great boss Hogg!  I love his Louie DePalma laugh. Hehehehehe

this movie is next on my list from netflix.

I have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD....wanting the next few that are out now. Eventually, I will get back to buying them again.

I have been thinking about something, though.

They seem to be doing remakes for different shows, and I have been thinking that maybe a remake of the Andy Griffith Show could be a good one. Have Jim Carrey play as Barney....

Or the A-Team could be redone...ahh, nostalgia...

I was never a fan of the show, but if Carey comes out I just might watch it.

Great idea, although I can't imagen who could play B A Baracus. I would look foward to a movie based on the TV show Voyagers. LinkLink

That was a great TV show. But I would actually like one of Knight Rider and I know there is that about where KIT becoms a red Trans Am. I want something with todays movie technology.

I hear Mike Tyson's looking for work....although the face tats might be a turnoff!

Scary thought #5,364...if they do an "A-Team" movie, I would count it a virtual CERTAINTY they'll try to land a) Jim Carrey, or Mike Myers as "Howlin' Mad Murdock".

Any takers?

How about Adam Sandler?

I think it would be Will Ferrell.

Ferrell's style is less manic than Murdock, though...Myers or Carrey have more of a similar style

Reason enough for me to pass on it then.

I think some serious audio magic would be needed to make that guy sound anything like Mr T.

a) Jim Carrey, or Mike Myers as "Howlin' Mad Murdock".

Jim Carey, does have a facial resemblance to Murdock, not to mention his ability to seem crazy like in Pet Detective. Mike Myers is OK, but a bit too loud and too hyper to be Murdock, although his ability to be more than one person in a single movie does earn him some credit.

How about Adam Sandler?

Nah, too serious, too slow, would be more like a drug or alcohol addict than a nut case. Though anyone playing B.A. might actually want to kill him for real.

I think it would be Will Ferrell.

What?!!!!!! Your kidding right? OK, he didn't do so bad in Bewitched, which BTW I liked and thought that Nicole Kidman was a knock out (keep in mind, as I said in this article, I am not one for chasing blonds). Still the Anchorman movie he did was the worst 3 dollars I ever spent in a video store, I'm too afraid to even rent Kicking and screaming. I think it's his face, its hideous. Can't barely watch any of his movies.
